The engineering process is a set of steps that engineers use to design and build products. There are a variety of models of the process of engineering that include many or fewer steps, but they all follow a similar sequence. The first step in the process of engineering design is to define the problem. This is a critical step since failing to completely and clearly define the issue could result in delays later on in the design cycle. Often the solution to a particular problem will appear naturally during this step.
